History of Aston Martin
The company was founded in 1913, under the name Bamford and Martin after its owners Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin. The name was changed to Aston Martin a year later, after they were victorious at the Aston Hill Climb and it has stayed with them ever since.
Unfortunately, this British car manufacturer has been plagued with financial difficulties throughout their history. During the First World War they were forced to close their factory and seek investment to reopen.
In 1947, following the Second World War, Aston Martin were in trouble again when it was acquired by David Brown, and the Aston Martin DB11 still wears his initials to this day.
Aston Martins collaboration with 007 and the silver screen began in 1964, propelling them to new levels of stardom. Since then, Aston Martins have been the cars of choice for thrill-seekers with sophisticated taste.
