History of Mini
The first Mini took to the road in 1959 and the iconic car was the design of Englishman Alec Issigonis.
The Mini was quickly embraced by people around the world, thanks to its agile handling and quirky charm.
One of those taking notice was John Cooper. He was an experienced racer, who was won over by the small cars impressive handling ability. So much so, that he took the Mini and upgraded it himself to create the first ever Mini Cooper in 1969.
Although the 60´s propelled Mini to the iconic status it holds today, unfortunately the 80’s and early 90’s would not be so successful and the company changed hands several times before it was purchased by BMW in 1994.
This is when the new age of Minis was released and the Mini Countryman is the most radical of them all.
